Connecting Batteries in Series
Connecting batteries in series will double the voltage provided by a single battery. For instance, if two 6V @10Ah batteries are connected in series, the voltage becomes 12V @10Ah; if two 12V @50Ah batteries are connected in series, the voltage becomes 24V @50Ah. The capacity, or amperage, stays the same.
Connecting Batteries in Parallel
Connecting batteries in parallel will double the amperage, or capacity, provided by a single battery. For example, if two 6V @10Ah batteries are connected in parallel, the capacity becomes 6V @20Ah; if two 12V @50Ah batteries are connected in parallel, the capacity becomes 12V @100Ah.
Connecting TireMinder Signal Booster to 6V Batteries
When connecting the TireMinder Signal Booster to 6V batteries, you will want to connect the booster in series so that a 12V connection is made. This is done by connecting the booster's red wire to one 6V battery's positive terminal, then connecting the booster's to a different 6V battery's negative terminal, providing the booster 12V.
